Namkeen Lassi

Quick, easy and authentic Punjabi-style salty lassi. Perfect cooling drink for summer.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Yogurt
  • ½ to 1 cup cold water or buttermilk
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Bhuna Zeera Roasted Cumin Powder
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: mint or coriander

Equipment

  •  Blender or jug
  •  whisk
  •  glasses

Method
 

  1. Combine yogurt, water, salt, and roasted cumin powder in a blender or jug.
  2. Blend or whisk until smooth and frothy. Adjust thickness with water if needed.
  3. Taste and adjust salt or cumin.
  4. Pour into glasses with ice cubes.
  5. Garnish with mint leaves or extra cumin. Serve immediately.

Notes

 Freshly ground bhuna zeera enhances aroma and flavor. Serve immediately for the best taste.
Use whole milk yogurt for creaminess. Greek yogurt also works well.
